The Band

In 2007 three guys got together in a record store in Berlin-Kreuzberg.

They had all been in bands before, playing punk rock, ska and rockabilly. Soon they found out that they all had a preference not only for the ‘60s mod classics, but also for the mod revival sound of the late ‘70s. One rehearsal was enough to let the three know it was right. So Jens, Ulli and Matze formed THE PIKES. Songs were written and a couple of covers chosen. Singer Flo completed the line-up and after a little while, they started gigging in Berlin, Hamburg and Potsdam.

In 2009 THE PIKES recorded a couple of songs at SMAIL-SHOCK-PRODUCTIONS. Somehow the tapes made their way to the TFA HQ and the the debut EP “No name street”were pressed on vinyl. THE PIKES extended their reach, playing all over Germany, Austria and finally made it to play at the Punx Picnic Festival in Birmingham, UK.

Around two years later, in 2012 THE PIKES recorded and published their first longplayer “Something’s Going On” and continued touring, e.g. to beautiful Switzerland. They felt that indeed something was going on and at the end of 2013 guitarist Jens left the band. After a little while, an long lasting friend of the band and ingenious guitarist Dusty completed the line up.
